About me

Hi, I’m Raluca, a multidisciplinary designer based in Brussels. With a background in communication and marketing, I help small businesses turn ideas into clear, accessible, and thoughtful design.

Why I work differently

I’m not a traditional designer. Before thinking about colors or layouts, I think about people, context, and purpose.

Because I studied communication and marketing, I approach design strategically, asking the right questions early, shaping ideas, and making sure visuals actually communicate something meaningful.

Design, for me, is not decoration. It’s a tool for clarity.

Clarity over decoration

I believe design should explain, not confuse. Every visual choice should serve a purpose: helping people understand information, navigate systems, or make decisions more easily.

Ethics & accessibility

Good design is responsible design. I care about accessibility, cultural context, and ethical choices, because design always affects real people, not just screens or layouts.

Strategy-first thinking

My background in communication and marketing shapes everything I do. I start with goals, audience, and context, so design decisions are intentional, not just aesthetic.

How it started

I’ve been creating since childhood, from kindergarten drawings and arts & crafts to writing award-winning short stories in middle school.

Early on, I learned that I loved shaping ideas, not just consuming them.

In high school, a creative scrapbook assignment for an English class became a turning point. It showed me that information could be visual, structured, and engaging all at once.

Later, designing my first illustration from scratch in Procreate brought everything together (see on the right my anatomic drawing exercise). Today, I approach design as a mix of storytelling, strategy, and clarity: a way to make ideas understandable and meaningful.

Frequently asked questions

I can do both, depending on what best fits your project. For fully custom branding or unique functionality, I design from scratch. If you prefer a faster or more budget-friendly option, I can work with high-quality templates and tailor them to match your brand.

My pricing typically includes everything you need for a complete and usable design: high-quality design exports, source files (Figma or Adobe XD), and 2–3 rounds of revisions to refine the design. Additional revisions or special add-ons can be included upon request.

Before we begin, we’ll set a clear project timeline with milestones. I provide regular updates and deliver each phase on schedule. If anything needs to shift, I communicate early to ensure we stay aligned and the final result meets your expectations.

Yes. I share progress updates at key stages: wireframes, initial layouts, and final designs. You’ll be able to review each step, provide feedback, and request adjustments to ensure the design is moving in the right direction.

I’ve worked with clients across a wide range of industries, such as tech, NGO, data consultancy, SaaS, bioengineering, FoodTech, fintech. If you tell me more about your niche, I can share relevant experience or examples from similar projects. Regardless of industry, I focus on understanding your goals so the design reflects your brand and speaks to your audience.
